Bilden av fred



En väldigt god vän till mig kom nyligen hem från Uganda (i Moroto och Kampala). Han hade varit där på en praktikplats hos organisationen Save the Children.

Med sig hem hade han "Peace Album" som består av barnens känslor i uttryck av bilder och texter.



Jag tycker att albumet är jättefint och ville dela med mig av en dikt som är skriven av en ung tjej från norra Uganda.

I PAINTED PEACE

I had a box of colours- bright, alive and bold
I had a box of colours- some warm, some very cold.

I didn't have red for the blood of the wounded
I didn't have black for the cry of the orphans
I didn't have white for the face of the dying
I didn't have yellow for the burning sands.

But, I had orange for the joy of life; and green for the shoots and nests
and blue for the blue skies and pink for dreams and rest

I sat down and painted peace.

Ur: Peace Album, Save the Children (in Uganda)



A very good friend of mine came back to Sweden from an internship at the organisation Save the Children in Uganda.

He had brought back a very interesting album Peace Album that had the children's paintings and texts on the subject peace.
I find the album so interesting and important and will thus share a poem with you all, written by a young girl from Northern Uganda:
